Nothing better than getting the whole gang together. Just before the holiday rolled in, they had a reunion with members of the family coming from Kansas, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Thankfully all 25 were able to make it! The last time they all were together was five year’s ago and in that time, 6 children have come into the family.
Dave and Darlene welcomed all the family to their home in Galena. They had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy each other’s company and do some catching up. The children had fun playing together. They played board games and had scavenger hunts and corn hole. All about making lasting memories. Laid out on the table were old images of days gone by. Cherished photos of family members recent and vintage.
In the center of it all is 96 year old Maurice. Lovingly called Papa Mose, everyone loves listening to his stories. Even I had the pleasure of talking with him for a few minutes and he is very spry. Everyone seems drawn to him. Growing up in Northwest Ohio, he served in World War II. He married his late wife and together they had twins, a boy and a girl, and another daughter that followed 18 months later. He was fortunate to find love again with his second wife Joyce whom the family adores. She’s taken good care of him and loves him dearly.
Just think of all the changes in the faces the next time you come together. How quickly kids will grow up.
All the great-grand kids with Papa Mose and Joyce.
Afterwards, they were all ready for some lunch and proceeded into the house. Hope you all had a great time seeing each other and creating some wonderful memories and keepsake photos for year’s to come. It’s always great to document these special occasions. Year’s from now these images will lay on someone else’s table to be looked over and remember loved one’s. Cherish those always!
