After a wonderful two weeks in Vegas, soaking up some much needed time with my friends and mixing a bit of business and pleasure…..I’ve been editing away since getting home to catching things up and getting back on track. Our first shoot took us to Nipton, California. This little town in the middle of the desert. Of course every where I looked I saw inspiration, but then I came across this building next to the tracks and it was all over. This was a special shoot with two friends. Brendon and Taylor graduated this past spring from Boulder High School in Boulder City, NV. Brendon is the son of my friend Heather. It’s so mind blowing looking at him. I have known him since he was a little guy, an now towers over his mom.
Brendon has plans to join the Navy as a Corpsman. For year’s he’s been inspired by the thought of joining and seeing it happen for him is so exciting. He’s got a good head on his shoulders and I know he will go far.
Taylor has just joined the Army and will be part of the Military Police. She’s super excited and her family is so proud of her. So much to look forward to in her life.
One of the things I love about shooting in Vegas is the breath taking sunrises and sunsets. There is just something about them I adore. We were racing time, as the sun began to set behind the mountains, but so worth every moment of it.
Taylor had a lot of fun, despite the bright sun. Often blinding at that hour, it was a gorgeous evening. So peaceful and quiet out there. In the two hours we were there, only two car’s traveled the road by us. Literally smack dab in the middle of nowhere.
Brendon has been enjoying his first summer out of school with the mix of family and friends. His close knit bond with his family will always bring him home no matter how far he goes in life.
Taylor was just doing her thing, the miles of road ahead in each direction and not a soul in sight.
What a special way to commemorate a friendship. Many memories to carry them through the year’s.
Though the road’s you both travel will take you in different directions, you will always have that connection and bond of friendship to hold close. Best of luck to you both as you go on your way serving our country. May God watch over you and keep you both safe.
